Description
Maya’s story is stitched into every one of these ornaments.
In 2022, a scruffy little dog named Maya left the tiny island of Holbox, Mexico – the place where she had spent her first six years in the care of Refugio Animal Holbox, a rescue whose volunteers fed her, healed her, and loved her through all six of them. Through a partnership with Pina Perros Dog Rescue, run by our friend Eliza, Maya made the journey to Canada – where she stepped into our lives and promptly took over. She’s been the boss of this workshop ever since, supervising every order that leaves the laser (from the comfort of her warm bed, naturally).
Every dog at Refugio Animal Holbox is loved just as Maya was – and every one of them deserves a family to belong to. That’s why this ornament isn’t just a keepsake; it’s a thank-you to the two organizations that made our family bigger and better.
Handcrafted in Airdrie, Alberta, each layered doghouse holds your pet’s photo (1.5″ x 2″ – a template is included to trim your printed photo to size) and is engraved with their name on the bone tag, flanked by paw prints. The back plate carries the marks of both rescues – because their logos belong on this story as much as ours.
Every ornament gives back:
– $10 to Pina Perros Dog Rescue – the Canadian rescue that bridges dogs like Maya from Mexico to forever families here
– $10 to Refugio Animal Holbox – the island refuge that loved and cared for Maya first
Your ornament honors your dog. And it helps the next Maya find her way home.
